Jiaozi are traditionally made during New year's Eve and eaten at midnight!
Usually a coin will be placed in one of the Jiaozi and the family member who finds it in their dumpling will have a lucky year ahead! 😄
Jiaozi are made to be shaped like small golden ingots, an ancient form of Chinese currency! The dumplings are thought to symbolise wealth because of this! 💛

The lid and main body of the steamer on this piece are individual brooches so that you can position them to your liking!
